Margo LaBau noted that the application to <br />the FTA is a request for a grant not the project. <br /> <br />Commissioner Tinklenberg noted that the Northstar Project needs a FTA <br />recommended rating. Steve Novak suggested and hopes that Governor Ventura <br />fully understands what is going on. Mr. Novak further noted that the NCDA <br />needs to get out in front on the funding issue. He also asked that the Legislature <br />be made aware of that fact that the Commissioner Tinklenberg made the <br />decision to change the funding request for the Project Commissioner Tinklenberg <br />noted that the FTA told Mn/DOT that if they had to make a decision on the whole <br />corridor, we would probably not get a recommended rating. Mr. Novak noted that <br />the NCDA needs fact and needs them soon. <br /> <br />Peter McLaughlin asked if Congressman Oberstar should be asked to talk to FTA <br />and issue a statement to them recommending that they give a recommended <br />rating for the project from Minneapolis to Rice. Commissioner McLaughlin further <br />noted that if the State funding were in place, a recommended rating would <br />probably be achieved. <br /> <br />Steve Billings and Chair Wergin thanked Commissioners Tinklenberg and <br />McLaughlin for being at the meeting. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the Chair adjourned the meeting at 6:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />
