City Council MS, nutes Page 9 <br />Janua~7 20, 2004 <br /> <br /> Doug Franz, Planning Commissioner-Stated that there was not enough room on this parcel <br /> to fit the required 32 trees but staff has worked on an alternative landscaping plan to fit the <br /> sire. <br /> <br />There being no further comment on this issue, Mayor Is2inzing closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Councihnember Dietz questioned if the applicant planned to be open on Saturdays and if he <br />planned on selhng retail to the general public. <br /> <br />The applicant stated that he would be open occasionally on Saturdays and there would be no <br />sales to the general public. He further stated that most of his business was mobile, wherebv <br />he loads the trucks with materials and then does the mt. ting at the job site. <br /> <br />Ms. McPherson stated that 15xnited retail sales for this type of business are alloxved under the <br />CUP requirements. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN TO APPROVE A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />FOR OUTDOOR STORAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br /> <br />ALL VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE STORED IN A <br />STRUCTURE. <br /> <br />ALL SAND AND AGGREGATE SHALL BE CONTAINED IN <br />CONCRETE BLOCK BUNKERS. <br /> <br />3. ALL CEMENT SHALL BE CONTAINED IN THE SILO. <br /> <br />IF THE YARD IS TO BE EXPANDED, THE APPLICANT <br />SHALL APPLY FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT. <br /> <br />ALL CHAIN LINK FENCES SHALL HAVE OPAQUE SLATS TO <br />PROVIDE SOLID SCREENING OF THE STORAGE YARD. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED LANDSCAPING SHALL BE LOCATED ON <br />THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE FENCE AS IS THE STORAGE <br />YARD. <br /> <br />THE PARKING AREA SHALL BE RESURFACED WITH <br />ASPHALT OR CONCRETE AND PROVIDE STRIPED PARKING <br />STALLS TO ACCOMMODATE ALL EMPLOYEES ON SITE AT <br />ANY GIVEN TIME. <br /> <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0-1. Mr. Leeseberg stated that fl~e applicant is <br />requesting a conditional use permit to operate a dog daycare and training center. He <br />discussed staffing, hour of operation, and Planning Commission action. <br /> <br /> <br />
