The main liquid stream changes include repurposing the primary
clarifiers for biological phosphorous removal and utilizing an extended aeration activated sludge process
for the entire biological treatment process. These changes are similar in scope to our original design
scope and because of this we are not requesting any additional fees for the liquid stream changes.
The original biosolids scope included pumping the biosolids to Great River Energy(GRE)for use in the
GRE system. The improvements for the original scope and the costs associated with this option are
detailed below.
Original Cost Estimate and Fees for
Great River Energy Biosolids Option
Item Cost
Site Work/Site Piping $150,000
Pumps $125,000
Sludge Storage Aeration Equipment $175,000
Electrical/Controls $90,000
Total Construction Cost $540,000
Contingency $54,000
Engineering Fee per Agreement $82,045
Total Project Cost $676,045
GA\Elk River\T21106811\1_CorresVemrite ltr 10apr2014.docx
DESIGNING FOR A BETTER TOMORROW
Bolton&Menk is an equal opportunity employer
