The project team will take the lead, working with city staff, in the process of establishing a <br />positive identity for the City of Elk River that reflects its brand and future. The team <br />members will familiarize themselves with the city's current signage, multimodal <br />transportation pathways, and main entrance routes into the historic downtown, <br />2. Brand Identification will be incorporated in signage types including gateway entry signs, <br />wayfinding /directional signs, information kiosks, and so forth. <br />3. Services include brand design, sign design, wayfinding, documentation including GIS plot <br />plans and message scheduling (plotting the locations and messages for each sign), <br />The team will make a formal presentation of the selected designs to the City of Elk River, <br />4. The team will furnish all relative cost estimates for fabrication, and installation of <br />recommended signage as well as a preliminary schedule for completion of the project. <br />5. The project team will provide a minimum of Three (3) completed designs for review and <br />approval. <br />Project Goals <br />I . To help people navigate from gateways throughout the downtown area. <br />2. To enhance the perception of the City of Elk River and its offerings. <br />3. To encourage greater visitation to and between downtown attractions. <br />4. To assist drivers with finding parking near major venues. <br />5. To provide a new cohesive, recognizable system. <br />6. To provide a system that captures the history and essence of the City of Elk River while <br />projecting a forward and progressive image. <br />7. To provide a system that meets the interests and desires of varying stakeholders, the <br />residents of Elk River and its visitors through team building and consensus. <br />8. To provide a system that meets the interests and desires of growing tourism, <br />entertainment, educational, sports, and natural venues and that provides a "common <br />sense" approach to wayfinding. <br />9. To provide a system that is functional and is appropriately designed, aesthetically with <br />flexibility to last for years to come. <br />10. To provide a solid cohesive system design and specification that can be maintained <br />within the city maintenance department, and that meets all federal, state, and local <br />transportation codes. <br />11. To provide a system that allows for flexibility, growth, and addresses short and long -term <br />signage needs and temporary banner attachments (if required.) <br />10 <br />
