SECTION 2 <br /> • Tibbets Brook(ID—07010203-522)is listed as impaired by the MPCA due to <br /> E-coli. <br /> • Upper Orono Lake (ID—71-0013-01)is listed as impaired by the MPCA dues to <br /> Nutrients and Mercury. <br /> • Lower Orono Lake (ID—71-0013-02)is listed as impaired by the MPCA due to <br /> Nutrients and Mercury.A TMDL is reported as approved. <br /> • Mississippi River(ID—07010203-510)from Clearwater River to Elk River is <br /> listed as impaired by the MPCA due to fecal coliform,fish biology and mercury. <br /> • Mississippi River(ID-07010203-503)from Elk River to Crow River is listed as <br /> impaired by the MPCA due to PCB in fish tissue and mercury. <br /> The locations of these impaired water bodies are shown on the water resource problem <br /> areas map,Figure 5,which can be found in Appendix A. <br /> The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approved the Minnesota Statewide Mercury <br /> TMDL in 2007. As stormwater point sources account for less than 1%of the mercury <br /> (majority is atmospheric),the City has limited ability to contribute to this TMDL. <br /> The City will be required to implement the TMDL plans for the other water bodies once <br /> complete. More information regarding these impaired waters can be found at <br /> http://www.pca.state.mn.us/index.php/water/index.html. <br /> 2.8.3. Shoreland <br /> The City of Elk River has an adopted Shoreland Overlay District.A copy of this ordinance <br /> can be obtained from the City Code portion of the City website by clicking on the <br /> following link and searching"shoreland" <br /> htlp://Iibraly.municode.com/index.aspx?clientld=I 3427&stateld=23&stateName <br /> =Minnesota or obtained at City Hall. This ordinance requires setbacks from shoreland <br /> areas, and limits the type of development, amount of impervious, and use of the city's <br /> shoreland areas. <br /> 2.8.4. Floodplain <br /> The City of Elk River has adopted a floodplain management ordinance.A copy of this <br /> ordinance can be obtained from the City Code portion of the City website by clicking on <br /> the following link and searching "floodplain" <br /> htlp://Iibrary.municode.com/index.aspx?clientId=13427&stateId=23&stateName <br /> =Minnesota or obtained at City Hall.
