GENERAL WORKPLACE POLICIES <br />2. OPEN DOOR POLICY <br />During your employment with the Utilities you may have certain concerns, such as an <br />issue, suggestion, complaint, or question, about your job, your working conditions or <br />some related matter. We strongly encourage you to raise any such concerns to Utilities <br />management, so that we will have the benefit of your input on the matter and you will <br />have the benefit of our best efforts to address any concerns you might have. <br />In addition, you are required to report any conduct ut ~h< ~tiur~l~icc ~~~_ rclatcit tu_thc <br />l t~Iiiic that you believe is illegal, and to ask questions if you are not sure whether any <br />particular conduct is I~g~,l ~n_ appropriate. Please also see the discussion under the <br />Whistleblower Policy in this Handbook. Anyone who fails to report a known or <br />suspected violation of law, regulation or internal policy may be considered to have <br />committed an equally serious violation. That individual may be subject to corrective <br />and/or disciplinary action, up to and including discharge. <br />Under this Open Door Policy, we ask that ou I ir,t raise ~~ <br />y y~~iuk concern #~,t~iboul y~~ur <br />~inpluy~~icn< ~n th~_ ~unkl~lacc with your immediate supervisor, if possible, and follow <br />Eheseth~ steps h~lu~+ to have your concerns addressed. (Please note that issues of <br />harassment should be addressed in accordance with the Utilities' Harassment Policy in <br />this Handbook.) <br />1. If you have any concem about any aspect of employment with the Utilities or with the <br />Utilities' business, please voice your concerns to your immediate supervisor as soon <br />as possible. In most cases your immediate supervisor will be tl~~ pvrtiuti in the best <br />position to address your concerns. The supervisor and the Utilities will make every <br />effort to keep the matter confidential to the extent possible within the confines of the <br />rights and obligations of you and the Utilities. <br />2. If for some reason you are not comfortable discussing your concerns with your <br />immediate supervisor, choose another Utilities manager-;~;t,T~t~~n;;,,~,~t <br />` ~~tk*lte-~"'"''"' "' " '''"~r~`-`gin-weH with whom to discuss <br />your concerns. Again, he/she will make every effort to keep the matter confidential <br />to the extent possible. <br />3. Alternatively, or in addition, you may feel free to contact the Utilities' Human <br />Resources Representative.
