IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT THIS HANDBOOK <br />This Employee Handbook sets forth general policies of the Elk River Municipal Utilities <br />(the "Utilities") and is intended to help you get to know the Utilities and your <br />responsibilities.. The Handbook applies to all Utilities employees. <br />The Utilities Commission shall, in accordance with its statutory responsibility to manage <br />the Utilities, be responsible for the maintenance and periodic revision of personnel <br />policies, the Utilities' personnel program, and this Handbook. The Utilities is committed <br />to applyisrgcomolvine with all applicable law. If it comes to the attention of the Utilities <br />that any provision of this Handbook is inconsistent with applicable law, the Utilities will <br />comply with applicable law. <br />Each employee of the Utilities is responsible to become and remain informed about the <br />employment policies and practices of the Utilities and to abide by the rules, regulations, <br />standazds and policies of the Utilities, including those contained in this Handbook. <br />This Handbook is designed to answer basic questions about the Utilities' employment <br />policies and procedures and to serve as a resource when you may need information. This <br />Handbook cannot cover every situation, and the Utilities reserves the right to interpret <br />and apply this Handbook and to address each situation as it determines appropriate. <br />If you have any questions about the information in this Handbook, or if the Handbook <br />does not appear to address your concern, please contact your immediate s unerviso~ <br />mother Utilities manaeer or the Utilities' Human Resources Representative. (The <br />Utilities has arranged with the City of Elk River for Human Resources services. The <br />Utilities' Human Resources Representative can be found in the City of Elk River's <br />Human Resources Department. <br />No employee has a protected property interest in his or her employment with the Utilities, <br />and nothing in or about this Handbook creates a contract of any kind between the Utilities <br />and any Employee. <br />Violation of the Utilities' rules, regulations, c~policies, standards or practices is just <br />cause for discipline, up to and including termination of employment. <br />,~.~~~ <br />Octo r 20/ l <br />
