4

PROJECT EVALUATION
(narrative)

What are your desired outcomes? Describe how you will measure the impact of your services on your target
population as it relates to outcomes. (Use specific examples, including statistics from the geographic
location, surveys from the community etc.) Be realistic about what you can measure. You may use up to ten
(10) attachment pages to support this narrative.

Project Evaluation

Each of the components of the project will be evaluated separately to determine if we have
achieved the desired outcome. In most cases, the statistics will show us if we achieved our goals.
How each component is evaluated is listed below. Although we may not be able to measure
citizen satisfaction through any scientific or concrete standard, we will also know that we have
achieved our desired results if any/some or all of the component(s) of our project no longer
becomes a concern of our citizens, or as a group, or business, in a specific area.

Intensive Traffic Enforcement

This component would be evaluated by statistics in which we would hope to show the following:
1) an increase in the number of citations for semaphore violations, 2) an increase in the number of
contacts with people crossing the highway at locations other than intersections, 3) an increase in
contacts and citations in specific areas identified by the public as having a current or special traffic
safety problems or concerns, 4) no decrease in the number of DUI arrests, and, 5) a decrease in
the number of accidents on this specific stretch of highway.

Juvenile Curfew and Alcohol Enforcement

This component would look to statistics for an increase in: 1) curfew violations, 2) underage
consumption and possession charges, and, 3) the number of 'procuring for minor' and/or
'contributing to the delinquency' charges. For evaluation of this component, we would also look
at crime statistics for a reduction in the crimes focused on in the Neighborhood Crime Reduction
Patrols.

Neighborhood Crime Reduction Patrok

This component would look for a reduction of thetis, thetis from motor vehicles, tampering with
motor vehicle, vandalism, and criminal damage to property. This information would again be
obtained from crime statistics. We might also see an increase in the number of arrests or a higher
percentage of cleared cases in these targeted areas, however, the increase visibility and the'
enforcement of the curfew ordinances may prevent may of these crimes fi'om happening to begin
with.'
