Approved: <br />Revised: <br /> <br /> City of Elk River Position Analysis <br /> <br />Position Title: Building/Housing Inspector <br /> <br />Department: Building and Zoning <br /> <br />Immediate Supervisor's Tit]e: Environmental and Building Administrator <br />FLSA Status: Non-Exempt <br /> <br />Purpose: Responsible for administration of the housing licensing program. <br />Conducts multi family housing inspections and licensing to ensure building, fire, <br />and housing maintenance code compliance. Conducts residential building and <br />site inspections and reviews plan to ensure building code compliance. <br /> <br />Essential Functions <br />1. Administer housing licensing program and enforcement activities. <br /> A. Implement and enforce housing inspection codes including the <br /> <br />Bo <br /> <br />Housing Maintenance Code, Uniform Building Code, Uniform Fire <br />Code, and Rental Housing Licenses and Regulations. <br />Contact rental property owners to schedule inspections. <br />Assure rental licenses are current. <br />Assure that units are incompliance with all applicable codes. <br /> <br />° <br /> <br />Perform permit and plan reviews. <br />A. Review permits, plans, and materials to ensure that work is done per <br /> permit application and to ensure that construction plans meet <br /> structural and non-structural building code requirements. <br />B. Review plans to ensure that they meet zoning codes, fire codes, health <br /> codes, plumbing and heating codes, and other applicable codes. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Conduct inspections. <br />A. Conduct building inspections, including footing and foundation <br /> inspections, rough and final construction inspections, sign <br /> installations, and fence installations. <br />B. Conduct heating and air conditioning inspections. <br />C. Inspect rough and final plumbing. <br />D. Perform other miscellaneous inspections such as swimming pool, <br /> various business, and complaint-originated. Resolve code violations. <br />E.
