• <br />• <br />Universityof Minnesota at Mankato State <br />Mankato State University Arena <br />Mankato, Minnesota <br />Size: $17 million <br />The city of Mankato and Mankato State University commissioned a <br />design foran ice arena to be"Home Ice"forthe Mankato State Women's <br />Division I Hockey Program. The arena would also provide a practice <br />facility for the Mankato State Men's Division 1 Hockey Program, and <br />the site would be designed to also allow for a future six lane curling <br />rink. <br />The basic design program included one 1,500-seat NHL size sheet <br />(85x200) arena, used by all parties, except for the MSU Women's <br />Hockey program home ice; one 350-seat (retractable) Olympic size <br />sheet (100x200) practice arena used by all parties, but primarily a <br />practice facility for the MSU Men's Hockey program; Connecting <br />lobby with stairs, elevator lobby, offices, ticketing and concessions, <br />concourse, public restrooms, and storage. <br />The Concept Design Phase included preliminary construction cost <br />estimate, preliminary site planning, and a power point presentation <br />for the State Legislature for bonding approval.
