Elk River City Council Minutes Page 5 <br />July 28, 1997 <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO PROCEED WITH THE APPLICATION FOR THE <br />RAILROAD CROSSING AT 171sT AVENUE. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO DIRECT THE CITY ENGINEER TO BEGIN <br />WORKING WITH MNDOT ON THE SIGNALIZATION OF HIGHWAY 10 AND 171sT <br />AVENUE. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO DIRECT THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO <br />CONSULT WITH LAND ACQUISITION FIRMS TO ACQUIRE QUOTES FOR SECURING <br />RIGHTS-OF-WAY AND EASEMENTS. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />A concerned resident indicated that his property is involved in the project. He <br />stated that he had not been notified of this project and questioned how the road <br />will affect his property. He also informed the city that he does not want the road <br />nor does he want his property if the road in constructed as proposed. He stated <br />that he would expect the city to purchase his entire property. He further <br />indicated that he would like to be notified of future meetings. <br /> <br />7. Other Business <br /> <br />There was no other business. <br /> <br />8. Staff Updates <br /> <br />There were no staff updates. <br /> <br />Motion to Call an Executive Session of the City Council to Consider Strate,qies for <br />Labor Ne,qotiations <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO CALL AN EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />The City Council recessed into Executive Session at 7:53 p.m. and reconvened at <br />8:40 p.m. <br /> <br />12. Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO <br />ADJOURN THE MEETING.
