Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />Park and Recreation Commission was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by <br />Chair Dave Anderson. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Consider 11/4/92 Park and Recreation Commission Agenda <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER MIKE O'BRIEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 11/4/92 PARK AND <br />RECREATION COMMISSION AGENDA. COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />3. Consider 9/2/92 Park and Recreation Commission Minutes <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DANA ANDERSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE 9/2/92 PARK AND <br />RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER MIKE O'BRIEN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4 . Open Mike <br /> <br />Jeff Hribar, representing the Sherburne County Trail Association, <br />requested assistance from the Park and Recreation Commission in <br />planning a snowmobile trail through the City of Elk River. Mr. Hribar <br />indicated that his Association would like to establish a trail on the <br />old railroad bed from the north City limits and eventually make a <br />connection with the City of Otsego to the South or Big Lake township to <br />the west. Mr. Hribar explained that trail establishment is done by <br />volunteers and that his group is reimbursed by the Minnesota Department <br />of Natural Resources for signs and trail grooming, as long as the trial <br />forms a loop or is connected with an existing DNR trail. <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission showed support for a snowmobile <br />trail, but did not feel that is would be a compatible use with <br />cross-country skiers on the railroad trail south of County Road 33. It <br />was the consensus of the Commission that it could recommend that a <br />snowmobile trail be allowed on the railroad bed from the landfill to <br />
