The Commission also asked staff to contact the gravel pit <br />owners and look for other alternatives for a snowmobile trail. <br /> <br />Commissioner Clair Olson arrived at this time (8:15 p.m.). <br /> <br />5. 728 Area Recreation Program Update/Jeff Asfahl, Coordinator <br /> <br />Jeff Asfahl reported to the Park and Recreation Commission on the 728 <br />Area Recreation Program and the continuing efforts to develop the Joint <br />Powers Agreement between School District 728 and the participating <br />local governments. <br /> <br />Jeff told the Commission that the 728 Area Recreation Board <br />be meeting with the organizational athletic groups to see <br />assist them with registration, scheduling, or other needs. <br /> <br />will soon <br />if he might <br /> <br />Jeff gave an update on the Handke Pit warming <br />funds allocated by the City would be used to <br />electrical service, new windows, benches, <br />Street/Park personnel will paint the inside to <br /> <br />house stating that the <br />install new heaters, a new <br />and flooring. Recreation Field Land Update and Discussion <br /> <br />Phil Hals passed out concept <br />athletic complex. The Park <br />needs for recreation fields. <br /> <br />drawings of layouts for an 80 acre <br />and Recreation Commission discussed the <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON MOVED THAT THE PARK AND RECREATION <br />COMMISSION ENDORSE THE CONCEPT OF A SPORTS COMPLEX IN THE EASTERN PART <br />OF THE CITY AND RECOMMENDS TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT THE CITY SHOULD <br />CONSIDER THE PURCHASE AN 80 TRACT OF LAND FOR FUTURE FIELD DEVELOPMENT <br />AS OUTLINED IN THE PARKS MASTER PLAN AND AS DISCUSSED WITH THE CITY <br />COUNCIL AT THE LAST JOINT COUNCIL AND COMMISSION MEETING. COMMISSIONER <br />MIKE O'BRIEN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />7. 1993 Budget Review <br /> <br />The City Administrator briefly reviewed the 1993 General Fund budgets <br />that are related to Park and Recreation activities. These budgets <br />include the Shade Tree Program, the Parks, the Recreation, and the <br />Senior Citizen budgets. <br /> <br />The City Administrator noted that the Commission's input on the <br />expenditure of funds is more related to capital improvements and that <br />this discussion on use of park dedication funds typically takes place <br />
