Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due cal1 and notice thereof, Chairman Anderson cal1ed the <br />meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Due to a lack of a quorum, the following <br />items were discussed and no action was taken. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />Brian James and Bruce Dalchow addressed the Park and Recreation Board <br />regarding the operation of jet skis in Lake Orono. It was their <br />concern that jet skis not be banned from Lake Orono at the present time <br />and that they would be wil1ing to work with other boaters and jet ski <br />operators regarding the safety issues of boating and jet skis in Lake <br />Orono. Mr. Dalchow suggested that the City increase the size of the <br />sign containing the rules for watercraft on Lake Orono to a four foot <br />by eight foot size. Chairman Anderson stated that he would like to <br />invite the Sheriff's Water Patrol, the Lake Owners Association, and jet <br />ski operators to a future Park and Recreation Commission meeting so <br />that all of the issues could be addressed at one time. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Discussion on Activities on Lake Orono <br /> <br />Mr. Dave Anderson, Sherburne County Sheriff's Water Patrol Division, <br />was unable to attend the Park and Recreation Commission meeting. <br /> <br />6. Discussion of Horseback Riding in Woodland Trails Park <br /> <br />Discussion took place regarding horseback riding in the Woodland Trails <br />Park. An informal discussion took place on possibilities to <br />accommodate such trails wi thin the Woodland Trails Park. It was the <br />groups opinion that the horseback riders should have a representative <br />meet with the Park and Recreation Commission at a future date. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Lion's Park Update <br /> <br />Phil Hals, Street/Park Superintendent, reported that the Lion's Club <br />had completed the restrooms in Lion's Shelter #5.
