<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 1, 1957 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Elk River was called to order on July 1, <br />at the Municipal building by Mayor Schwartz. All members were present. The minutes of the last <br />meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Russell Oliver was present in regard to developing certain street on some of his lots. There was <br />discussion with the village attorney Mac Gibbon, but no further action was taken. <br /> <br />A petition was presented by property owners in west part of village asking for sewer extension. For <br />the reason that the petition does not show names of streets nor just where proposed sewer is to be <br />located no further action was taken at this meeting. <br /> <br />Pat Kilmartin was present. He asked about extending his sidewalk to the Bernard property and <br />making proper grade as his sidewalk grade is much lower than the Bernard property. The matter was <br />left to the Road and Bridge Committee. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Dow and seconded by Meyer to allow George Maas two weeks’ vacation at <br />average rate of pay. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A delegation representing the athletic assn. with Jack Hetrick as spokesman met with council. They <br />want permission to deed certain land owned by them to the County Fair Board. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Sandberg to deed this land to the Fair Board with <br />certain stipulations proposed by the village attorney.
