Briggs <br />Village Clerk <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />The Village Council of the Village of Elk River, County of Sherburne, State of Minnesota, being in <br />st <br />regular session on the 1 day of July, 1957, all members being present, Councilman Fred Sandberg <br />offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />That whereas the Village of Elk River holds in trust for use as a municipal park, athletic field and for <br />other public uses not consistent with said uses the following described premises situated in the <br />County of Sherburne and State of Minnesota, to-wit: <br /> <br />All that part of the West Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (W ½ of NE ¼ of <br />SW ¼), of Section Thirty-two (32), Township Thirty-three (33), Range Twenty-six (26), lying South <br />of Old Highway No. 10, (formerly known as the Elk River-Big Lake Road) except that portion <br />described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the East line of said W ½ or NE ¼ of SW ¼ <br />and the center line of old U.S. Highway No. 16; thence South on said East line a distance of 650 <br />feet; thence West parallel with the North line of said W ½ of NE ¼ of SW ¼ to a point 150 feet <br />east of the west line of said W ½ of NE ¼ of SW ¼; thence North parallel with the west line of said <br />W ½ of NE ¼ of SW ¼ to the center line of old U.S. Highway No. 10; thence Southeasterly along <br />the center line of said highway to the point of beginning and <br /> <br />Whereas said land is not needed for any village purpose; and <br /> <br />Whereas the Sherburne County Agricultural Society desires to acquire said premises to be used as a <br />county fair grounds; and <br /> <br />Whereas The Elk River Athletic Association, a non-profit corporation, having a reversionary interest <br />in said premises has agreed to release said right to said agricultural society, so long as said premises <br />shall be used for purposes relating to the operation and conducting of a county fair, or any other <br />purposes incidental to or consonant with the activity of an agricultural society.
