VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING April 6, 1953 A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Apr 6, 1953. Members present: E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, Clerk The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A motion was made by Dow and seconded by Bailey to transfer $83.00 from the General Fund to the Library Fund to offset purchase of a used typewriter for the library which was paid for out of the Library Fund. Carried. A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Meyer to approve application of Wm Schumacher for an on and off beer license. Carried. A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Dow to send Les Derr to the Fire School at St. Paul thst April 27 to May 1 1958. Motion carried. A motion was made by Meyer and seconded by Bailey to authorize the Elk River Village Fire Department to answer fire calls outside the village limits as well as in the village. The motion carried. At this council meeting the hearing regarding the matter of vacating certain streets in the Walker Addition Revised was held. No one appeared in answer to the notice of the hearing.
