<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 8, 1959 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Sept 8, 1959 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> G.R Bergerson, August Meyer, R.G. Kemper, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />Resolution Calling for Special Meeting of Village Council to be held Sept 14, 1959 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Be it resolved by the Village Council of the village of Elk River, Minn. as follows: <br />Whereas, two trustees of the village council of the village of Elk River, Minn. to wit: G.R. Bergerson <br />and R.G. Kemper have filed with the clerk a writing calling for a special meeting of the village <br />council of the village of Elk River, Minn to be held at the Municipal Building in said village on Sept <br />14, 1959 at 7:30 P.M. and <br />Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the village of Elk River as follows: <br />1. That a special meeting of the village council of the village of Elk River be and herby is called <br />by the trustees voting affirmatively hereon which meeting shall be held in the Municipal <br />Building in the Village of Elk River, Minn. on Sept 14, 1959 at 7:30 P.M. <br />2. That the village clerk shall mail a notice to all member of the village council of the time and <br />place of meeting at least one day before the meeting. <br />3. That the issues and questions to be raised and considered at such meeting shall include but <br />not be specifically limited to the following: <br />a. Acceptance or rejection of standing sewage treatment plant bids <br />b. Calling for bids on extension of sanitary sewage system. <br />c. Employment of architect to prepare plans for remodeling and redecorating of farmer <br />creamery building as a liquor store. <br />d. Call for bids for demolition of part of creamery building as a prerequisite to remodeling <br />and redecorating same. <br />Said motion was made by Kemper and seconded by Bergerson and duly adopted by a note as <br />follows: <br /> <br />For – Kemper, Bergerson, Briggs, Meyer <br />Against – none. <br /> <br />James Cliff presented a sketch of a new addition near the Meadowvale Road. This was given <br />tentative approval but Mr. Cliff was asked to have his surveyor see that the streets conform to <br />streets in adjoining lots. <br /> <br />Ben Roper presented a preliminary plot of lots on the grange property. This was also given tentative <br />approval by the council. <br /> <br />James Thomas and Howard Wirtz presented a petition to vacate a street between Main St and Lake <br />Orono. Now known as Xenia St. In case the street is vacated the petitioners agreed to give the <br />Village an easement for a hydrant through the vacated street if required. <br /> <br /> <br />
