<br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to <br />order by Mayor Bartelt on Sept. 7, 1971 at 7:30 pm. in the Council Room of the <br />Village Office Building. Members present were Mayor Bartelt and Councilmen Hudson, <br />Syring, Konop and otto. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Aug. 16, 1971 regular meeting and the Aug. 18, 1971, Aug. 24, 1971 <br />and Aug.'3l, 1971 special meetings were read. There were no additions or corrections <br />and the minutes were a~proved as read. <br /> <br />Ernie Carlson, owner of the Main Tap reported his live music was going well and in- <br />quired as to when the 100am closing would go in to effect. He was told that the <br />Council did not have a ruling on this and that he would be notified as soon as there <br />is something firm on ita He was granted permission to continue with live music until <br />notified otherwise. <br /> <br />Ban Bailey of The Elk River Planning Commision and Neil Larson, presented the final <br />plot plan for Towns Edge Com-t for approval. Moved by Councilman Hudson and seconded <br />by Councilman otto, to accept the Towns Edge Court Plot Plan-as presented. Motion <br />unaminously carried. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Otto and seconded by Councilman Syring to charge the following <br />fees for use of the aerial surveys: $50.00 for the use of the surveys for the first <br />40 Acres and $50.00 for each additional 40 acres or portion thereof. Motion unaminous- <br />ly carried. <br /> <br />Dan Bailey, representing the Elk River Planning Commission, recommended that the <br />Village Council pass an ordinance that a,garage be required with new one-or-two <br />family residences. Sample ordinances were reviewed. <br /> <br />Discussion on federal monies being allocated to the state under the Federal Emergen- <br />cy Employment Act of 1971, to create public service jobs at the local level. $64,000000 <br />has been allocated to Sherburne County. Local units would be required to provide at <br />least 10% of the program co~ts. <br /> <br />Dan Bailey expressed the need for basic maps of the streets with all the utility lines <br />,drawn in, while we still have available, men who are familiar with their locati.ons. <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and se'conded by Councilman Hudson, that we apply to SherburneE. <br />County for funds in the amount of $12,000..00 under the Federal Emergency Employment Act <br />of 1971, as salary towards ~mployment of a p~rson or persons to ~p the village streets <br />and utility lines. Motion unaminously carried. .. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Otto and seconded by Councilman Syring, to grant the renewal of ( <br />the Club License at the American Legion Club.
