<br />o <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />June 21, 1971 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called <br />o to order by Mayor Bartelt at 7 :30 pm on June 21, 1971 in the Village Hall. <br />:lYlembers -,resent were Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Hudson", Konop and otto. <br /> <br />The minutes of the June 7, 1971 regular meeting were read and corrected as follows: <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman otto to adopt new fire contracts <br />with the following neighboring to".,1lShips: El~ River, Otsego, Burns and Ramsey. Annual <br />standby fees are too be based on one tenth mill assessed valuation of the property <br />covered by the Elk River Fire Department with the exception that otsego TO""1lShip's <br />annual standby fee would be $500.00. Cost per run $225.00, cost for the 1st one-half <br />hour $75.00, cost for each additional one-half hour $75.00. Motion carried. %im <br />~~"'''f!,..1''''''''m1....I.dt~x...!,'t>'''''''.''~~ The following <br />additions were made:, Moved by Councilman Konop and seconded by Councilman otto, <br />authorizing $75.00 expenses to Police Chief Robert Olson to attend the 1971 Police <br />Convention. l'1otion carried. Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman <br />Hudson, authorizing expenditures of $300.00 to the Elk River Planning Commision for <br />the purpose of ~tudying the downtolt.'Il triffic flow problem. Motion carried. The <br />minutes of the June 7, 1971 regular meeting were then approved as read. <br /> <br />The Council met with Mr. Ernest Carlson and Mr. Paul Aumer and discussed the <br />possibilityof being issued a 3.2 beer license.o The Council explained to the <br />gentlemen that they must first fill out the application form. They plan to return <br />to the next council meeting with their application form filled out. <br /> <br />Ne~, the Council met with Marvin George and discussed the possibility of annexing <br />the School View Addition. <br /> <br />Next, the Council met with Mr. Elroy Cornelius to review his on and off sale non- <br />intoxicating malt liquor license at Crossroads Cafe in Elk River. His license <br />expires July 14, 1971. No problems were known by the Council which were associated <br />wi th his establishment.. <br /> <br />Next, the Council met with Patrolman Ron DeRosier. <br /> <br />Moved by Hudson, seconded by Otto to accept the plans and specs for the Vernon, <br />Meado-wvale and York sanitary sewer and watermain project. Motion unaminously <br />carried. A copy of the resolution is attached. <br /> <br />Next, the Council met with Ken Van Patten who presented his report to the Council <br />on a centralized dispatching system. <br /> <br />Moved by Otto, seconded by Hudson to approve of Mr. Van Patten's centralized <br />dispatching system. Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />Moved by Hudson, seconded by Konop for the Council to accept the Title of Deed to <br />the fort constructed at Orono Park, which the Jaycees gave to the Village of Elk <br />River for a consideration of $1.00. Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />, . <br />The Council agreed to allow the, Jaycees store their bottles and glass which they <br />pick up around the Village at the Hunicipal dump, at a location specified by the <br />dump attendant. <br /> <br />Next, the CO}lncil met., with Mr. MacGibbon, the Village Attorney. <br /> <br />Moyed by Councilman Hudson and secpnded by Councilman otto to instruct the Village <br />Attorney to proceed with his court action on the Railroad Crossing appeal. Motion <br />carried. Konop abstained, Bartelt voted yes, otto voted yes and Hudson voted yes. <br /> <br />Next, the Council met with the Northwestern Bell Telephonel,'Ma,nager from Anoka. <br />
