<br />April 19, 1971 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called <br />to order by Mayor Bartelt on April 19th, 1971 at 7 :30 pm in the Village Council () <br />Room. Members present were Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Hudson, Syring, Konop and Otto. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the April 5, 1911 regular meeting were read. No additions or <br />corections were made and the Vunutes stood approved as read. <br /> <br />The Village surveyor, John Oliver, and Jack Dozzi, representative of Mark Hurd <br />Aerial Surveys, Inc., met with the Council. They discussed with the Council <br />the benefits which aerial surveys would give to the conununity. <br /> <br />Jlloved by Councilman Hudson, and Seconded by Councilman Syring that the Council <br />accept the planning Commission's reccommendation to employ the services of Mark <br />Hurd aerial Surveys, Inc. Motion Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Wm. T. l'I..ills, the village engineer, presented to the Council his preliminary <br />report on the sahitary sewer, Watermain and Storm sewer for the proposed Ind- <br />ustrial Park and also the report on the sanitary sewer and waterrnain extensions <br />for Upland Heights. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson that the <br />preliminary report, as amended by time T. l'I..ills, Engineer, be accepted as to the <br />following proposed improvements: <br /> <br />1) Extension of Sanitary North on Vernon Ave. <br />2) Extension of Watermain North on Vernon Ave. <br />3) :Extension of Sanitary Sewel! into the Industrial Park <br />4) Extension of Watermain into the Industrial Park <br />5) Construction of a Storm Sewer in the Industrial Park <br /> <br />(-- <br />I, ) <br />. / <br /> <br />And the Clerk-Treasurer as directed to give notice of a Public Hearing according <br />to law to be held upon such prepared improvements on May 11, 1971, at 1:30 pm. <br /> <br />Resolution Unanimously passed. <br /> <br />The Elk River Town Board met with the Council and discussed the Annexation policy <br />and the sanitary landfill situation. <br /> <br />The Council decided to formally appeal the decision of the l-linnesota Public <br />Service Commission last month ordering the closing of the railroad crossings <br />at King and Lowell Avenues. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring, Seconded by Councilman Konop to Authorize Wm. T. <br />l-lills to make a sewer study on the Marvin George Area, including the <br />new Senior High School to the Sewage Disposal Plant. Motion unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Bill Pattenaude, representing Elk River Utilities, presented the 1970 Audit <br />Report to the Council. <br /> <br />(~ <br />
