Councilmembers Duitsman. Toth. Engstrom and Schuldt <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Hinkle. <br /> <br />2 . Agenda <br /> <br />Item 8 Consideration of. plans for re-surfacing County Road #1. and Items #10d, <br />e, f and g regarding auction of Riverside Bar fixtures, liability insurance, <br />meeting of the Finance Committee to review the 1982 and 1983 budgets, and meeting <br />of the Government Operations Committee, respectively, were added to the agenda. <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA AS AMENDED. COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />3. Minutes of February 18. 1982 City Council Meeting <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES AS PREPARED. COUNCILMAN SCHULDT <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />4. Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for this item. <br /> <br />5. Custom Motors Conditional Use Permit Compliance <br /> <br />Mr. John Engberg, attorney for Custom Motors, Mr. Clint Olson, Custom Motors owner, <br />and Mr. Harold Zuppa, manager of Custom Motors, were present to address the City <br />Council regarding compliance with a conditional use permit issued to Custom Motors <br />in 1978. Mr. Engberg informed the Council that Custom Motors intended to comply <br />with the conditions set forth in the conditional use permit and indicated that <br />they wished to submit a plan for screening the Custom Motors property to the <br />Building and Zoning Administrator by July 1, 1982. Councilman Duitsman indicated <br />that at their last appearance before the City Council, specific mention of the con- <br />ditions were reviewed and Custom Motors indicated at that time that they would also <br />be complying with the conditions. Councilman Duitsman indicated further that no <br />effort had been made on the part of Custom Motors to comply and that he and other <br />Councilmembers were very upset with Custom Motors' lack of attention to the con- <br />ditional use permit compliance issue. Mr. Engberg indicated that some improvements <br />to the property had been made since the last appearance before the Council. Speci- <br />fically, some chain link fencing had been added on the east side of the property and <br />the property had been picked up in some areas. Councilman Engstrom indicated that <br />the plan should be developed sooner than July 1st so that the necessary planting <br />or screening can be accomplished as early as possible in the spring. Mayor Hinkle <br />and Councilmember Toth also indicated that the planting should be completed in the <br />spring and that the plan should be done earlier. Councilmember Engstrom indicated <br />that help might be available from the Soil Conservation Service and the County <br />Extension agent. should it be necessary.
