Call Meetin~ to Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River City Council was called to order by Mayor Tralle at 7:00 p.m. 2. Consider 1/9/91 City Council A~enda COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 1/9/91 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA AS PRESENTED. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 3. Park and Recreation Commission Interviews The terms of three Park and Recreation Commission members expired at the end of 1990. The City Council had received seven applications for these three positions, including the applications from the three incumbents. It was noted that applicant, David Granlund, could not attend the scheduled 7 :00 interview due to a work commitment. The Administrator indicated to the Council that staff had advised Mr. Granlund that a decision would be made at this meeting and that the City appreciated his application and encouraged him to apply at a future date when another vacancy occurs. 7:15 - Linda Obrycki was interviewed at this time. 7:30 - Jerry Palmer was interviewed at this time. 7:45 - Dana Anderson was interviewed at this time. The City Council recessed at 8:10 p.m. and reconvened at 8:20 p.m. 8:20 - David Anderson was interviewed at this time. 8:35 - Byron Houghtelin was interviewed at this time. 8:50 ~ Marilyn VanPatten was interviewed at this time. The City Council recessed at 9:10 and reconvened at 9:15. A general discussion took place regarding the qualifications and interest for serving on the Commission of all of the candidates. The City Council expressed a desire to have some new individuals on the Commission, but indicated that they were very impressed with the knowledge and experience of the incumbents.
