Meeting of the Elk River Boards' of Appeal and Equalization <br />Held at Elk River City Hall <br />Monday, April 13, 2015 <br />Members Present: Mayor Dietz, Councilmembers Olsen, Burandt, and Wagner <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Westgaard <br />Staff Present: City Clerk Tina Allard, Finance Director Tim Simon, and Executive <br />Secretary /Deputy City Clerk Jessica Miller <br />Also Present: Assistant County Administrator /Commercial Assessor Dan Weber, <br />County Assessor Greg Olson, Residential Appraiser Cindy Bowman, <br />Agricultural Specialist Kristi Botzek, and Commercial/ Industrial <br />Appraiser William Riley <br />1. Ca11 Meeting to Order <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Board of <br />Appeal and Equalization was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Mayor Dietz. <br />2. Board of Appeal and Equalization <br />Greg Olson, Sherburne County Assessor, indicated the purpose of the Board of <br />Appeal and Equalization is to consider and review 2015 estimated market values and <br />property classifications for taxes payable in 2016. <br />Information was presented on the assessment procedures and statistics for the City <br />of Elk River 2015 assessments. <br />The Board of Appeal and Equalization heard appeals as outlined below: <br />1. Linda Lee, Parcel Identification Number 75- 424 -0165 <br />Ms. Lee indicated she believes the market value of her home and adjacent outlot <br />have increased too rapidly in the last two years and asked for an explanation. <br />Ms. Botzek explained Ms. Lee's home received the standard 7% increase for Elk <br />River. She added Ms. Lee's outoot was adjusted to the base acreage amount along <br />with other outlots in the city. Ms. Botzek recommended no change to the Board. <br />Moved by Councilmember Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Olsen <br />to make no change to parcel 75- 424 -0165. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />
