Howard R, Green Qompany <br /> <br />Item # 6.9. <br /> <br />Apdl 17, 2003 <br />File: 230000M-0325 <br /> <br />The Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />City of Elk River <br />13065 Orono Parkway <br />Elk River, MN 55330 <br /> <br />RE: PROJECT STATUS REPORT <br /> <br />Dear Council Members: <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers has asked me to prepare a memo updating the City Council on the <br />status of vadous engineering projects now underway or in the planning stages in the City of Elk River. <br />I have broken the update down into four sections: City Initiated Projects, Developer Projects, <br />Sherbume County Projects, and Miscellaneous Projects. Where appropriate, I have broken each <br />section down into projects from previous years and new projects. The status of the vadous <br />engineering projects is as follows: <br /> <br />A. CITY INITIATED PROJECTS <br /> <br />Carryover Projects From Previous Years <br /> <br />· f7'5th Avenue <br /> This is the federally funded project reconstructing 175th Avenue from Twin Lakes <br /> Road to Filmore Street. The project contractor is S.R. Weidema, Inc. The project <br /> was substantially complete in the fall of 2002 with the installation of all utilities and <br /> the first lift of bituminous paving. To be completed in the spdng of 2003 is the <br /> bituminous trail and the final lift of paving, along with signing, striping and <br /> restoration. <br />· Zane Street Improvements <br /> S.R. Weidema is also the contractor for this project, which closed the access onto <br /> Trunk Highway 10 (TH 10)at the Amedcinn and connected this commercial area to <br /> the south of the Mississippi Ridge Development. This project was also <br /> substantially complete in the fall of 2002 with the only remaining work in 2003 being <br /> the final lift of bituminous paving and minor punchlist work. We are, however, <br /> currently discussing with MnDOT the possibility of constructing a dght turn lane on <br /> TH 10 at 173~d Avenue, which is located immediately behind Napa Auto Parts. <br />· Waco Street/TH lO Signal Project <br /> This project, along with various other signal improvements, was substantially <br /> complete in 2002.
