Not all Council
members have e-mail so we cannot simply forward the e-mails. We will see that the Council also receives this e-
mail.

The Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing on the conditional use permit for the building on March
26 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The EDA will be holding a public hearing on April 9. All public hearings are published
in the Elk River Star News. Also, we publish our agendas on our web site at www.ci.elk-river, mn.us. You can also
contact City Hall for information on public hearings.

Sandy Peine
City Clerk

..... I have not heard a
response from anyone and according the this week;s article on the facility - John Dietz,
who is in my district, commented he never received any feedback from anyone.

P.S. Dear Mr. Editor - this is feedback on the article on the proposed safety facility I sent
to the city in January and never received an answer back. Thank you.

Attn: Stephanie Klinzing and City Council Members:

I am very concerned about this proposed Safety Facility on Orono Parkway. I live
immediatley south of City Hall on Fresno Street. Is this something the citizens in the
area will have a voice about?? Also is this proposal something the community is going to
vote on being it affects our taxes?? It looks like according to the newspaper - it is
already decided upon.

I don't think the Safety Facility should be built where you are planning it - adding more
traffic, fire trucks, police cars, noise etc. The sirens we hear many times as they pull out
of the driveway which was not suppose to happen when they built the police station in
that location. This was a residential area for all the years I have lived in Elk River over
40 some years, until the City Hall was given the land. This department should be in the
center of the City of Elk River - not in residential areas.

2/28/2002
