My question is: Is this facility really necessary?? My taxes just keep going up and up.
After all the assessments I have had now this pending. Many people have told me they
can't even afford to live in Elk River. Have we become an Edina?? It is really
disheartening to live here all my life and see what is happening to our quaint small town
atmosphere. Yes, I enjoy some shopping opportunities but not when it takes more taxes
to support this city. With all the businesses - our taxes should be less - but the city just
keeps spending more of our money and letting more and more people move here so we
then need more and more. How can you expect us to support all this spending?? Most
of us can't - as you could see from the school referendum.

I belelive this is wrong that the council can make a decision about something that will
raise our taxes significantly and not let the community make that decision.

Thank you.

Gwen Smith
18290 Fresno Street
Elk River, MN 55330

Gwen R.
