REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />To Item Number <br />City Council 3.8 . <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent Februa 4, 2008 Rebecca Hau ,Environmental Admin <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Amendment to Solid ~K'aste Management Agreement Sen-ice Lori ohnson, Ci Administrator <br />Agreement with Sherburne County Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />Staff is requesting the City Council approve the extension of the current Solid Waste Management Service <br />Agreement with Sherburne County. <br />BackgroundlDiscussion <br />The City of Elk River entered into a waste delivery contract with Sherburne County in 2000 to deliver all <br />of the acceptable waste fox its residential program to the RRT facility. Sherburne County is requesting an <br />extension to the contract which would expire on August 31, 2008. The extension will provide for <br />continued waste delivery to the facility while the Counties and RRT renegotiate a contract The extension <br />would be for one year and would then expire on August 31, 2009.
