CU 94-12

ISSUE

Request for a conditional use permit to operate an outdoor farmers market in
the Jackson Square parking lot.

LOCATION

Jackson Square parking lot at the intersection of Jackson and Main Street.

tt ATTACHMENTS

Report to Planning Commission dated April 26, 1994

OVERVIEW

The Sherburne County Growers Association received a conditional use permit
on February 24, 1993, to operate a farmers market in the parking lot between
King Avenue and Jackson Avenue, lying south of Highway 10. Although this
location was used by the Growers Association last year, the group is
considering moving to Jackson Square parking lot to gain additional
exposure and hopefully attract customers downtown. The farmers market
would be in operation Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays 12
noon to 5 p.m., May through October. Approximately 8-10 vendors will be
offering home grown produce for sale and would occupy those parking stalls
on either side of the landscaped island in the middle of the parking lot. The
attached site plan clearly illustrates the area intended to be used by the
farmers market.

tt

P.O.
