SPECIAL ~rEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 1991 Members Present: Chair Dave Anderson, Byron Houghtelin, Todd Mixer, Clete Lipetzky, Rolfe Anderson and Dana Anderson Members Absent: Mike O'Brien and Marilyn VanPatten Others Present: Barb Northway and Phil Hals 1. Call Meeting To Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chair Anderson at 7:15 p.m. 2. Consider 2/27/91 Park & Rec A~enda Since Chair Dave Anderson had called the special meeting and had all of the agenda items, no agenda was formally approved. ') u. COQsider 2/6/91 P~r~_~ Ree Minutes Minutes were distributed to Commission members as the~ arrived. Since they were not available prior to the meeting, no motion to approve was made. 4. Disc1;!ssion Chair Dave Anderson called the special distribute information about the upcoming district communi ties by School District 728 Recreation Director position. meeting to collect meeting called with regarding an area and all wide Chair Anderson asked for a volunteer to attend the 2001 meeting on 3/16/91 as a representative of the Elk River Park and Recreation Commission. Since there were no volunteers, Chair Anderson decided to submit a written statement for Charlie Blesener to present at the 2001 meeting. Chair Anderson raised the issue of Item 8 on Page 3 of the Park and R,ecreation Commission minutes from the 2/6/91 meeting regarding the request to the City Council to amend the Park and Recreatl on Commission Ordinance to allow for the appointment of a ninth Board member and allow a person from outside the City to serve for a period of one year. The group consensus was to make this request at the joint meeting on 3/6/91 and emphasize the important contribution that Barb Northway make to the Park and Recreation Commissjon.
