Call Meetin~ to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chair O'Brien at <br />7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consider 12/5/90 Park and Recreation Commission A~enda <br /> <br />BARB NORTHWAY MOVED TO APPROVE THE 12/5/90 PARK AND RECREATION AGENDA. <br />DAVE ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consider 11/7/90 Park and Recreation Commission Minutes <br /> <br />TODD MIXER MOVED TO APPROVE THE 11/7/90 PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />MINUTES. DAVE ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4. QIl_en Mike <br /> <br />Noone was present for this age~da item. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Sample Park and Recreation Coordinator/Director Job Description <br /> <br />A general discussion took place regarding the merits of putting <br />together an Elk River Park and Recreation Coordinator/Director job <br />description at this time versus forming a committee to review the <br />current recreation duties and park duties. It is noted that if a <br />description is completed at this time, the position may not be filled <br />for twelve to eighteen months and that the duties could change. It was <br />also noted that the recreation duties are more of a school district <br />wide function and that the park duties can be more clearly defined. In <br />this regard, it was noted that most of the recreation activities take <br />place on school property and Elk River youth and adults are only about <br />60% of the total participants. Therefore, the recreation director may <br />be a separate position and be an area wide position funded by more than <br />just the City of Elk River. On the other hand, the park director <br />duties can be clearly defined from one community to another and whereas <br />Elk River may need a park director, other communities may not. <br />
