4--FURNITURE
-AND-
THINGS
To: Multipurpose Facility Advisory Commission
From: Tim Dalton, Multipurpose Facility Superintendent
Date: June 10, 2024
Subject: Facility Update
HS Season Attendance and Revenue Summary
Memorandum
Included you will find the attendance and revenue summary for the Elk River High School regular season hockey
games held at the FT Center during the 2023-2024 season. New this season, we implemented online ticketing, a
significant upgrade which reduced game operations staff costs markedly. The per game minimum paid by the district
for each game event UV and Varsity games) for 23-24 season was $1,600 per game. Game revenues over the minimum
amount are divided equally between the facility and the district. For the 22-23 season this amount was $1,400 per
game. For many seasons previous, the minimum amount was $900 per game. Rising operational costs and lower High
School game attendance has reduced the amount of game revenues. Often individual game admission revenues do
not cover the operational costs the facility incurs facilitating the game, hence the increases in the game minimum.
Rivers Edge Concerts/Ice Deck
We are excited to now have a functional 31 x 25 ft. portable ice deck surface. It will allow us to host all the Rivers
Edge Concerts in the Cornerstone Arena in the event of inclement weather. The ice deck allows bands to perform
on the ice surface while spectators sit in the Cornerstone arena stands. Utilizing the stands for seating eliminates the
need for patrons to bring their own chairs. We are excited to have this quick change capability; we can completely
install the ice desk for an event in about one -hour. The deck may also be utilized in the Kiser Arena and creates many
more non -ice options for our arenas. Additional ice deck tiles may be purchased in the future to expand the deck to
cover the entire ice surface if desired.
Office Realignment
The front office area has undergone changes with cubicles and workstations added to accommodate the Senior
Programs Staff. This move allows the Senior Programs Staff to be more readily accessible for Senior Program
customer service needs. In addition, it creates a more centralized area for building staff, allowing for improved staff
communication and collaboration. The former Senior Programs Office in the fieldhouse has been converted to a
rentable conference room space.
