Thumbs UP Partnership
We continue to meet with Thumbs Up exploring options for an afterschool youth program housed in the FT Center
starting Fall of 2024. Thumbs Up is a local foundation that provides a variety of mental health services and resources
for the Elk River Area community. Currently, we are discussing a collaborative program that would result in an
afterschool option for high school and middle school youth Monday through Thursday afterschool. As we continue
to develop the concept and bring together resources to support the program, we will have more detailed information
to share with the Commission and City Council.
Spring Breakaway Bash
On the weekend of May 10-11, we hosted our first Breakaway Bash Hockey Jamboree. The Breakaway Hockey League
is a regional recreational hockey league operated by the FT Center. This new weekend hockey event was held
exclusively at the FT Center and included 17 games at our facility, which bought many families and fans to watch
their favorite young players. The spectators attending resulted in a busy weekend at the concession stand with $2,810
in weekend concession sales that would not have occurred without the Breakaway event. The Breakaway Bash was
an all-round success, and we plan to continue to include the Bash event in all future Breakaway league schedules.
Spring Makers Market
On Saturday May 4, we hosted our 2024 Spring Makers Market. This year we saw a nice increase in vendors
participating with 69 vendor spaces sold, up from 38 in 2023. We were also saw an uptick in market attendees, which
pleased our vendors. Of the three markets we facilitate, the Spring Market has historically been the least popular, we
are encouraged to see the spring market begin to draw more vendors and shoppers.
Rental Customer Feedback
We have again received very complimentary feedback from recent facility users. Examples of those emails are included
with this report.
Social Media Reports
Attached is the FT Center Social Media Report for April 2024.
Upcoming Events
Included is a listing of events scheduled in the FT Center for the upcoming months.
