Patron Services Supervisor Report
To: Elk River Board
CC: Margot Barry, Library Services Coordinator
From: Jeannette Burkhardt, Patron Services Supervisor
Date: July, 2023
Library Services Coordinator
ro
We welcome Margot Barry to the Elk River Library as the new LSC. Margot has experience within the GRRL
system as the LSC for the Becker and Big Lake Libraries, as well as library experience outside of GRRL in
school media centers and the Carver County library system. We look forward to seeing her ideas and drive
in the Elk River Library. Welcome Margot!
User/Non-User Survey
As mentioned at January's board meeting, GRRL contracted SCSU Survey Center to conduct a User/Non-
User survey for us. The team reviewed the preliminary results of the SCSU User Survty. Over 5,000
responses were received by phone and email, an extraordinarily strong response rate. The top library
locations used by respondents included St. Cloud (28%), Elk River (10%), St. Michael (7%), Waite Park (7%),
Monticello (6%) and Little Falls (4%). Respondents could select more than one library as an option. Over
half said they visit the library 11 or more times per year. The collection continues to be a main reason why
people come to the library. Over half picked up an item on reserve and/or browsed the library collection on
their last visit. Overall satisfaction with the library was high. The full results of the survey were presented to
the GRRL Board at the July 18 meeting.
Marcile Carlson Gift
I submitted a proposal to the Fund Development Committee of the GRRL Board at their meeting in June.
The group accept the proposal for use of the funds and we are moving forward with the project. Margot
and I will meet with the reading coordinator Karin Emerson to figure out the next steps for recruiting
volunteers, training volunteers, ordering materials and set up the Reading Bridge cart. The goal is to start
this program in January 2024, although this time line is flexible.
I&MBRARY
RNM RE61 M
