Approve May 7, 2007 Agenda <br />The April 9, 2007 agenda was approved with one addition made by Task Force member Larry Toth <br />that the Task Force may want to consider renaming the Redevelopment Plan from “Downtown <br />Redevelopment Plan” to something else in order to better describe the redevelopment area since the <br />area is much larger than the core downtown. It was decided that each small group would discuss <br />new names for the Plan during their visioning exercise. <br /> <br />2. Approve April 9, 2007 Minutes <br />The April 9, 2007 minutes were approved with one change on Page 3 from “THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 12-0” to “THE MOTION CARRIED 11–1. TASK FORCE MEMBER DAVE <br />RYMANOWSKI OPPOSED.” <br /> <br />th <br />3. Purpose of May 7 Meeting <br />Half of the Task Force members indicated that they had a chance to drive or walk the redevelopment <br />area in preparation of tonight’s visioning meeting. As a follow up, Planner Chris Leeseberg showed <br />and narrated a 4.5-minute video of the redevelopment area. <br /> <br />Michael Schroeder of LHB Architects & Engineers summarized the purpose of visioning. He <br />explained that tonight’s meeting would be a brainstorming session resulting in rough sketches of <br />Task Force suggested design/land use concepts for the area twenty years from now. <br /> <br />th <br />Assistant Director of Economic Development Heidi Steinmetz provided an overview of her May 7 <br />Memorandum entitled Visioning Session 1 of 2. She stated that it is important for the Task Force to <br />utilize the Policy Assumptions dated April 9, 2007 as a framework for tonight’s visioning session in <br />addition to the Task Force mission statement. She added that tonight’s small group discussions will <br />be summarized at the end of the meeting. <br />4.
