Call Meeting to order <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Pearce called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consider Agenda for the September 25, 1984 Planning Commission Meeting <br /> <br />#6 - Appoint a new chairman and vice chairman for the Elk River Planning Commission <br />to be added to the agenda. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Planning Commission to accept the agenda as amended. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consider Minutes of the August 28, 1984 Planning Commission Meeting <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER TRALLE MOVED TO ACCEPT THE AUGUST 28, 1984 PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES <br />AS PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER TEMPLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 6-0. <br /> <br />Consider Conditional Use Permit Request by Walter Lynas - Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mr. Walter Lynas of 724 Jackson Avenue, Elk River, was present at the Planning <br />Commission meeting to request a conditional use permit to allow him to operate a <br />home occupation from his home. Mr. Lynas indicated that 75% of the items he sells <br />are army/navy surplus supplies, and indicated that he buys from people that have <br />bought from government organizations. Mr. Lynas further indicated that everything <br />would be contained inside his home and garage and that nothing would be displayed <br />outside of the home. Mr. Lynas further indicated that 25% of his products were new <br />products. Mr. Lynas further indicated that the hours of his operation would be <br />Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:30 p.m. <br />Mr. Lynas stated that he does not deal in guns, ammunition or trucks. <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Pearce questioned Mr. Lynas as to how he advertises for the sale <br />of his products. Mr. Lynas indicated that most of his advertising is done at flea <br />markets which he goes to, and also by word of mouth. Acting Chairman Pearce further <br />questioned Mr. Lynas as to how many people at one time he anticipated would be at <br />his home. Mr. Lynas indicated that if he had two or three customers at once he <br />would be doing good. <br /> <br />Chairman Tralle questioned Mr. Lynas as to the type of signage he would be using. <br />Mr. Lynas indicated that he would comply with the City's Sign Ordinance. <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Pearce opened the public hearing. No one appeared for or in <br />opposition of the request. <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Pearce closed the public hearing. <br />
