<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br />September 25, 1984 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Mr. Lynas indicated that 1/3 of his garage would be used for the housing of his <br />vehicle, and that 2/3 of the garage would be for sales. Mr. Lynas further indicated <br />that he would have no hired help. Mr. Lynas stated that this is just an experiment <br />at the present time, and that if he finds he gets too busy he will definitely want <br />to rent a building. <br /> <br />Commissioner Tralle indicated that he was leary of retail business going away from <br />the PUD and the downtown area, but felt if Mr. Lynas' intention is to eventually <br />go into a store, he would vote in favor of the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Commissioner Temple questioned whether the customers would park on Jackson Avenue. <br />Mr. Lynas indicated that most of them do park on Jackson, and that a few park in <br />the alley. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER TRALLE MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT MR. WALTER LYNAS OF <br />724 JACKSON AVENUE, ELK RIVER, BE GRANTED A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A HOME <br />OCCUPATION TO SELL ARMY/NAVY SURPLUS SUPPLIES FROM HIS HOME WITH THE FOLLOWING <br />CONDITIONS: <br /> <br />1. THAT A GARAGE SPACE BE RETAINED FOR A VEHICLE. <br /> <br />2. THAT THERE BE NO PAID EMPLOYEES. <br /> <br />3. THAT THE HOURS OF OPERATION BE TUESDAY AND THURSDAY FROM 7:00 P.M. TO 9:30 P.M., <br />AND SATURDAY FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M. <br /> <br />4. THAT NO GUNS OR AMMUNITION BE SOLD FROM THE PREMISES AT ANY TIME. <br /> <br />5. THAT THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT BE RENEWED IN TWO YEARS .'. \. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER WILLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 6-0. <br /> <br />5. Consider Conditional Use Permit Request by Donald Lindenfelser - Public Hearing <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Pearce indicated that Mr. Donald Lindenfe1ser, currently residing <br />at Route Ill, Underwood, Minnesota, has requested a conditional use permit for <br />property which he owns in the City of Elk River, located at 11264 202nd Avenue <br />NW. Acting Chairman Pearce further indicated that Mr. Lindenfelser has requested <br />a conditional use permit to allow him to temporarily place a travel trailer on the <br />subject property while he constructs a home on saad property. <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Pearce opened the public hearing. No one appeared for or in <br />opposition of the request. <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Pearce closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER TEMPLE MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT MR. DONALD LINDEN- <br />FELSER BE GRANTED A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO PLACE A TRAVEL TRAILER ON PROPERTY <br />HE OWNS LOCATED AT 11264 202ND AVENUE NW, WHILE HE CONSTRUCTS HIS HOME FOR A <br />PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS. COMMISSIONER TRALLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED <br />6-0. <br />
