Agenda was considered and accepted with the addition of <br />New Business Item A., 8. Other Business. <br /> <br />II. <br />{:.j. <br />1.. <br /> <br />New Items/Announcements <br />Copies of study text The Job of the Planning <br />Commissioner were distributed. <br />2" Commissioners Johnson & Kimball briefed members on <br />PUD consultant selection process, timetable, and goals of <br />study. <br />3. Commissioners welcomed newly appointed Commissioner <br />N.adeau. <br />4. Commissioner Kimball reported on Council's acceptance <br />and support for Recycling Committee Task Force Report. <br />Council authorized hiring of a coordinator who may also <br />have some environmental officer responsibilities. Staff <br />is creating job description and duties for Council review. <br />5. Commission members were informed on Citizens League <br />meetings planned for 9-21-89 & 10-19-89. <br />6. Tentative date for Joint Meeting has been set for <br />10-23-89. <br />7. Commissioner Johnson will be part of orientation <br />process for Commissioner Nadeau. <br />8. Minutes for Workshop Sessions will be completed by <br />each member in alphabetical order. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />B. <br />1.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />r-, <br />..::' " <br /> <br />Mi s~cel I aneou!::; <br />Commissioners again discussed length of meetings and <br />degree of detail reviewed at regular Commission meetings. <br />Idea to try a timed agenda was rejected. Members agreed <br />each will continue to be conscious of the .need for <br />efficiency in conducting meetings but stressed the <br />importance of thorough discussion, processingof ideas, <br />and adequate opportunity for public input. <br />Commissioners agreed to meet in training workshop to <br />review and discuss new text, The Job of thePlanning <br />Commissioner.
