Request for Action <br />To <br />Item Number <br />Mayor and Ci T Council <br />4.5 <br />Agenda Section <br />Meeting Date <br />Prepared by <br />Consent <br />June 7, 2021 <br />Ryan Sandhoefner, Engineer 1 <br />Item Description <br />Reviewed by <br />Change Order 1 for 2021 Street Improvements <br />Justin Femrite P.E., Public Works Director <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the following change order for the 2021 Street Improvement project. <br />Background/Discussion <br />CO 1.1 — Watermain Valve & Structure Chimney Seal Modification <br />■ ERMU has indicated that some of the project impacted valve boxes should be replaced and that an unused <br />watermain valve shall be cut out and the main capped. <br />■ All project impacted manholes and catch basins will be fitted with a chimney seal to reduce water infiltration. <br />CO 1.2 — Woodland Trails Park Improvements <br />■ Install a 10' wide bituminous trail the walk on the east side of Elk Lake Road NW to an existing trail at the <br />parking lot within the Woodland Trails Park. Change also includes a 1.5" overlay to the park access road and <br />parking lot. <br />CO 1.3 — Twin Lakes Road Turn Lane Modifications <br />Remove three turn lanes on Twin Lakes Road that do not serve connection roads or driveways. Two of these <br />turn lanes are located approximately 700-feet north of 1721id Avenue NW on Twin Lakes Road NW and one of <br />these turn lanes is located at the southern intersection (Southbound Travel Way) of Industrial Boulevard NW <br />and Twin Lakes Road NW. <br />Financial Impact <br />CO 1.1 - $75,134.72 <br />■ Elk River Municipal Utilities to allocate $61,683.08 for watermain valve improvements. <br />Pavement Management fund used to pay remaining $13,451.64 for structure chimney seal modifications. <br />CO 1.2 - $130,515.27 <br />Pavement Management and Active Elk River funds used for entire payment. <br />CO 1.3 - $60,500.42 <br />Pavement Management and State Aid funds used for entire payment. <br />Mission/Policy/Goal <br />Opportunity to live, work, and play. <br />Attachments <br />■ Change Order 1 <br />The Elk River Vision <br />A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional <br />service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires pi ospei l_ y. <br />M <br />TUREJ <br />Updated.• August 2020 <br />
