<br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 7, 1946 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the municipal building on October 7, <br />1946 with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Mr. R.W. Hauske was present regarding a school crossing across the new highway and regarding the <br />stadium lights. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Leger and seconded by Skellenger that the Village assume expense of <br />transformers, cross arms and the labor already furnished for the stadium lights. The motion was <br />carried. <br /> <br />Lee Bishop and Frank Nickerson met with the Council and asked for an extension of the storm <br />sewer to take care of the drainage from the Ford Garage and Bishop Meat Market. The matter was <br />referred to engineer, William Frantz. <br /> <br />Mr. Don Bohanan of the Worthington Pump and Machinery Corporation gave the Council <br />information regarding diesel engine for a generating plant. He referred to his companies previous <br />bid for engine of May 2, 1946. <br /> <br />William Frantz reported on the progress of the sewer. <br /> <br />Trustee Leger presented the following resolution and moved into adoption: <br /> <br />Resolution <br /> <br />That whereas, The Village Council of the Village of Elk River, County of Sherburne, State of <br />Minnesota, have found it necessary an expedient for the presentation of the public health, good <br />order and the government of said Village to construct a sanitary sewer system, which sanitary sewer <br />system is now under construction, and <br /> <br />Whereas, the sewer found of said Village does not include sufficient funds to complete said system, <br />and, <br /> <br />Whereas, the Village Council anticipates that the revenue of the Village will be sufficient to pay for <br />said sewer system with out the imposition of any further special assessment, <br /> <br />It is thereby resolved by the Council of the Village of Elk River that it is necessary and expedient <br />that sewer warrants in denominations of $1,000 each for a total mount of $50,000 be issued payable <br />$10,000 yearly with interest at the rate of 2 ½ % and the Mayor and Village Clerk are hereby <br />authorized and directed to issue said warrants as by law in such cases provided. <br /> <br /> <br />
