VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING August 6, 1951 A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Aug 6, 1951. Members present: R. A. Ellingson, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, Clerk The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ellingson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A delegation from the west end of the village with Ernest Carlson as spokesman were present and asked about sewer and drainage in their part of town. The council agreed to have a survey made to determine which way would serve the most families and which way would be the best expensive. Wm Patenaude Sr. asked if the village would arrange to have a street made so as to give access to some of his property where he is building a new house. The council agreed to investigate. Frank Belanger was asked to be present as some complaints have been coming in that he has too many junk cars in his yard. He agreed to clean up the place where it needs it. The clerk was instructed to have a notice placed in the Star News that the swimming beach will close th Aug 15 this year. Johnson Co – pipe for culvert 35.36 Anthony Burgoyne – hauling 37.75 E.J.
