";dy of <br />elk = - <br />River <br />Councilmember Westgaard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Resolution 20- 3 <br />A Resolution of the City of Elk River Approving Notice of Summary Publication <br />of Ordinance #19-25 An Ordinance Repealing and Replacing Chapter 10 Relating <br />to Animals of the City of Elk River, Minnesota, City Code. <br />WHEREAS, on December 16, 2019, the Elk River City Council adopted Ordinance 19-25 <br />repealing and replacing Chapter 10 of the Elk River Code of Ordinances; and <br />WHEREAS, the changes eliminated pet licensing, eliminated discrepancies within the chapter, <br />matched definitions of kennel and animals to zoning code, includes more animals then dogs and <br />cats, eliminated cat kennels, created a quantifiable measurement for noisy animals, established <br />rules for pet waste cleanup, incorporates state law regarding dangerous dogs, and created criteria <br />for assisting animals left in motor vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, a copy of the full text of the ordinance is available for inspection by any person at <br />the office of the Elk River City Clerk, 13065 Orono Parkway, during regular business hours; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four-fifths vote, <br />authorizes the publication of the title and summary of Ordinance19-25. <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Ovall -----,and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.
