<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 3, 1941 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the village council was held at the Municipal Bldg on Feb 3, 1941 at 7:30 <br />P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. Clinton Walker, <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by Frank Nickerson to submit the following <br />names to a vote for the council for a councilman to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of <br />George Cornelius: Ray Ryding, Elmer Leger and E.L. Shadick. After the vote was taken M.C. Tesch <br />Pres of the Council announced that E.L. Shadick had been elected. Mr. Shaddick was immediately <br />notified of his election and was shortly in attendance of the meeting. <br /> <br />Mrs. Fritz Carlson was present at the meeting. She told the Council that her husband was out Est <br />and out of work and stated that she was in need of assistance. She said that she would like to get <br />W.P.A. Library Work. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Clinton Walker and seconded by Frank Nickerson allowing Mrs. Carlson a <br />$10.00 food order and recommending her for certification on W.P.A. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Bert Glidden and Joe Lloyd were present at the meeting. Bert Glidden as spokesman for Joe Lloyd <br />said that Mrs. Lloyd was ill and that she would be unable to work for some time. Mr. Lloyd said that <br />he was unemployed and that they were in need of assistance. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and <br />seconded by E.L. Shadick allowing Mr. Lloyd a $7.00 food order and recommending him for W.P.A. <br />certification. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. David Davies reported on Eva Hemming and he and Clinton Walker were to take the case up <br />with Dr. Clothier. <br /> <br />M.C. Tesch appointed E.L. Shadick to the following committees. Road, Park and Waterworks <br />committees. <br /> <br />The Village Council of the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minn met as a Canvassing Board <br />rd <br />on the 3 day of Feb 1941 in special session pursuant to due notice thereof. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Pres. and upon roll call the following members were found: <br />Present E.L. Shadick, Frank Nickerson, G.A. Bailey, J. Clinton Walker and M.C. Tesch <br />Absent – <br /> <br /> <br />
