<br />,., <br /> <br />REGULAR SEMI-l~MONTHLY Mj~ETING OF THE <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE VILLAGE OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br /> <br />MAY 15th 1972 at 7:30 pm. <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Bartelt, on May 15, 1972 at 7:30 pm. in the Council Room of the Village Office <br />Building. Members were present as follows: Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Otto, Syring, and <br />Konop. John MacGibbon and Bill Mills were in attendance. <br /> <br />. <br />The minutes of the May 1, 1972 regular meeting were mailed and the minutes of the Special <br />meeting of May 8, 1972 were mailed. All member received and read the minutes there were <br />no additions or corrections and the minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />Mrs. H~len Gray, Sherburne County Auditor met with the Council in regard to tax forf~ited <br />land within the Village. After review of these plots of land it as decided by the Council <br />to instruct the Clerk-Tfeasurer to forward a letter onto the County Board of Commissioners <br />requesting the Commision to deed the Rootes & Johnson property to be used for the purpose <br />of a future street and Plots #160 and #148 Auditors map #5 to be used for the purpose of <br />off street parking to the Village. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Otto to request the Sherburne County <br />Commissioners to deed the Rootes & Johnson property and the Plots No. 160 & 148 Auditors <br />map #5 to the Village. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of ,3-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. & Mrs Olson met with the Council in regard to why the Village has not paved 5th Street <br />of Johnson Plot, they also requested that a dead end sign be installed at the corner of <br />Baldwin and 5th Street. The Council informed the Olson's that a written petition signed <br />by the property owners involved should be submitted to the Village Clerk-Treasurer re- <br />questing that the street be paved. The Council further stated that 5th street of Johnson <br />Plot would be added to the 1972 Street Improvement Project. <br /> <br />Bill Mills Village Engineer presented his preliminary engineering report to the Council <br />for a interceptor sewer, sewage treatment plant, pump station and out-fall sewer dated <br />March 17, 1972 based on a projected future population of 6,700 over a 20 year period. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Konop and seconded by Councilman Syring to accept and order the project <br />of the Preliminary Engineering report dated March 17, 1972 to extend to the lift station <br />at the edge of the Marvin George Addition as outlined in Plan 1, sheet 4, to also include <br />the addenum, this project to service an estimated capacity of 6,700 people. Motion <br />unaminously carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman m.tor;and seconded by Councilman Syring that the Mayor be authorized <br />and directed to act as Village representative in all Village matters relating to the <br />application of Federal and State Funds for the purpose of construction and additions or <br />alterations to the Sewer Treatment Plant and Sanitary Sewer SylItem. The following <br />members voted yea: Mayor Bartelt, Councilman Otto, Councilman Syring, Councilman Konop. <br />Those members voted nay NONE. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Konop to adopt the resolution <br />to engage the Village Engineer Bill Mills for the purpose of serving the Village in <br />construction and financing of alteration 'r additions to its Sewage Treatment Plant and <br />Sanitary Sewer System. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 3-0. A copy of the <br />resolution is attached. <br />to adopt the resolution <br />Moved by Councilman Otto and seconded by Councilman KonoPAto engage the Village Attorney <br />John MacGibbon for the purpose of serving the Village in~aonstruction and financing of <br />alteration or additions to its Sewage Treatment Plant and Sanitary Sewer System. Motion <br />unaminously carried by a vote of 3-0. A copy of the resolution is attached. <br />
