The Senate bill includes 19 LOST requests, 9 of which are only transportation or public <br />infrastructure projects, three others include city or recreation facilities along with transportation or <br />public infrastructure projects. The House passed its version of the Omnibus Tax Bill which also <br />includes our LOST language. For cities seeking local sales tax authority in the future, the bills from <br />both Senate and House requires cities to seek legislative authorization before conducting a local <br />referendum on the sales tax. <br /> <br />American Indian Studies Pow Wow at Handke Pit <br />ISD 728 will host the American Indian Studies PowWow on Saturday, May 18 at Handke Center <br />and Handke Pit. Native American groups from throughout the state will participate in this large <br />event. This event requires that all of the hockey boards be removed. <br /> <br />Tidying Up William H. Houlton Conservation Area <br />A reminder of the spring clean-up at the William H. Houlton Conservation Area Wednesday, May <br />15. Depending on weather, fence removal, trash cleanup, and other restoration tasks may be <br />completed. RSVP by emailing FMR Volunteer Coordinator at akilgore@fmr.org, or by calling <br />651.222.2193 ext. 31. <br /> <br />Woodland Trails Regional Park (WTRP) Grant Committee <br />The Committee will meet before the Commission meeting on Wednesday, May 8 to finalize the <br />design plans and project schedule. <br />WTRP Great Northern Trail Closure <br />Below is answers to most of the questions that came up at the April Commission meeting regarding <br />the GNR closure. Staff continues to work on the time frame questions and how long the closure <br />will last this summer. A copy of the parking lot plan is attached.
