ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> AY <br /> 322 King Avenue <br /> Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 1, 1991 <br /> 4 : 00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: Jim Simpson President <br /> James Tralle Vice Chairman <br /> George Zabee Trustee <br /> Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Others Present: Glenn Sundeen <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 4: 00 P.M. by President Simpson. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr. Zabee seconded by Mr. Simpson to approve the agenda. <br /> The motion carried. <br /> 3) Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Simpson to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4) Discussion was held concerning a Mrs. Peggy Johannes regarding a <br /> new transformer which was installed to replace an old one. It <br /> seems that the new one is much smaller in physical size than the <br /> old one and her dog is able to crawl on top of it and jump her <br /> fence. It was the opinion of the Commissioners that since the <br /> fence was illegally installed in the easement that no action be <br /> taken. The General Manager was instructed to write her a letter <br /> informing her of the Commission decision. <br /> 5) The General Manager reported that the following bids were received <br /> for the new bucket truck: <br /> ABM No bid <br /> Truck Utilities $76,207 <br /> Altec $68,829 <br /> R.M S $75,801 <br /> All of the bids met specifications. <br /> Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Tralle to award the purchase <br /> contract to Altec in the amount of $68,829. The motion carried. <br /> 6) An analysis by Assosciated Consultants of the bids for Bituminous <br /> Surfacing and Associated Site Work at the power plant was <br /> presented and discussed. Motion by Mr. Zabee seconded by Mr. <br /> Tralle to award the contract to the low bidder, Alber <br /> Construction, in the amount of $31, 062 . The motion carried. <br />
