(„' ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> 322 King Avenue <br /> Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> June 8, 1993 <br /> 3:00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: James Tralle President <br /> James Simpson Vice Chairman <br /> George Zabee Trustee <br /> Others present: Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Glenn Sundeen Line Superintendent <br /> Terry Maurer Maier Stewart & Assoc <br /> Don Schumacher Cretex <br /> Bob McCartney Water Superintendent <br /> Wade Lovelette Lead Lineman <br /> Mike Thiry Lead Lineman <br /> Mark Fuchs Lead Lineman <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M. by President Tralle. <br /> 2 ) Motion by Mr. Simpson seconded by Mr. Zabee to approve the <br /> agenda. The motion carried. <br /> 3 ) Motion by Mr. Simpson seconded by Mr. Zabee to approve the minutes <br /> of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion carried. <br /> 4 ) Don Schumacher from Cretex discussed with the Commissioners their <br /> plans for fencing at the Cretex yard. Because some of the fence <br /> will benefit the Utilities, he asked that the Utilities share in <br /> the cost of the fence. Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. <br /> Zabbe, to contribute nothing toward the cost of the fence, <br /> however, the rent being paid by Cretex for use of Utility property <br /> will be waived for a period of six years. The motion carried. <br /> 5 ) Terry Maurer explained the problems with the bids on the new water <br /> treatment facility and possible options and alternatives. Motion <br /> by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Zabee, to record the desires of <br /> the Commission that they unanimously prefer the pond approach for <br /> the disposal of backwash water. The motion carried. <br /> 6) Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Simpson, to extend the <br /> existing agreement with UPA for generation credits for an <br /> additional year, to expire on April 30, 1994 . The motion carried. <br />
