<br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />REGULAR SEMI-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br />June 20, 1977 <br /> <br />Members present Mayor Lundberg Councilmember Konop and Otto. <br /> <br />The minutes of the June 6, 1977 meeting were reviewed as there were <br />no additions or corrections the minutes were approved as printed. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Konop and seconded by Councilmember otto approving <br />the set-up license renewal application of Richard Dorsey for Dicks Main <br />Tap. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />The Council reviewed the platting fee schedule submitted by Lyle Swanson. <br />The Council recommended that the Planning Commission review this fee <br />just for there comments. <br /> <br />7:35 pm. Councilmember Toth in attendance. <br /> <br />City Consolidation attorney Bruce Rasmussen met with the council and <br />reviewed the final draft of our consolidation resolution. <br /> <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Otto and seconded by Councilmember Toth approving <br />the adoption of the consolidation resolution between the City of Elk <br />River and the Elk River Township as presented. Motion unanimously <br />carried by a vote of 4-0. A copy of the resolution is attached. <br /> <br />Kay Elliott representing the Retailers Association met with the Coun~il <br />regarding their recommendation to improve the parking problems in the <br />downtown area. A copy of their proposal is attached. No Council <br />action was taken at thisi tt1.~y additional information is needed. <br /> <br />8:30 pm. the public hearing on the 1977 Street Improvements reconvened. <br />Lyle Swanson City Engineer conducted the hearing. <br /> <br />Three (3) residents abutting the property along Elk Hills Street were <br />in attendance. They stated that they object to the paving of the street <br />however would agree to the placement of Class 5 to stabilize the road. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Otto and seconded by Councilmember Toth elilchange <br />the project on Elk Hills Street from paving to use Class 5. Motion was <br />unanimously carried by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Three (3) property owners on Quinn Ave. were inattendance. <br /> <br /> <br />Lyle Swanson presented his report which recommended a storm sewer to <br />correct the problem of the water standing on the street, however he <br />recommended that they not proceed with the project because at this time <br />due to the cost factor and that the city hopefully will have an over all <br />storm sewer project at some later date then this area could be included. <br />
