Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Madsen. <br /> <br />2. Agenda <br /> <br />Item #11, regarding road right-of-way in Meadowva1e Oaks Subdivision, was <br />deleted and in its place was substituted consideration of improvements in <br />Meadowva1e Oaks Subdivision. Item #17 was added to the agenda regarding <br />designation of conservation property in the City of Elk River. COUNCILMAN <br />ENGSTROM MOVED APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA AS AMENDED. COUNCILMAN TOTH' SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION PASSEl) 2-0. <br /> <br />3. Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN TOTH MOVED APPROVAL OF THE JULY '~ 1979, CITYCOUNCILMEEn'ING <br />MINUTES. COUNCIrn).N ENGsTROM SECONDED THE TION. MOTION PASSED 2-0. <br /> <br />M. Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared. <br /> <br />4B. Open Mike Report <br /> <br />The City Council considered a report from the City Administrator regarding <br />the construction of an 8th Street barrier and tax payment for rental space <br />in the municipal building. The City Council requested no further clarification <br />or further action on these items. <br /> <br />5. 1979 Diseased Tree Contractor <br /> <br />The City Administrator explained that only one quote had been obtained from <br />a local tree contractor for the 1979 Diseased Tree Removal Program and it <br />was desireab1e to have two quotes prior to selection by the City Council. <br />The Administrator indicated that an additional quote would be obtained and <br />forwarded to the City Council at the next regul~:r meeting. <br /> <br />6. School Signing Program <br /> <br />The City Council reviewed the proposed locations of school speed zone signs <br />and determined that the proposed locations were basically acceptable. Council <br />consensus was to move the signs located on Jackson Street closer to the inter- <br />section of School Street and Jackson than presently situated. The question <br />arose during the discussion as to how the end of the school zone is designated <br />and whether or not St. Andrews Parochial School should also be signed. The <br />City Administrator indicated that he would.eheekon the two questions raised <br />during the discussion and report back to the City Council at the next regular <br />meeting. No further action was taken on the item. <br />
