Purchase of Police Squad Car <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that bids for the police car were opened January 4, <br />1980, with only one bid received which was submitted by Elk River Ford. The base <br />bid per specifications was $6,679.43. The alternate bid to include the police <br />package was $6,840.24 and the second alternate for a 351 V8 engine was $6,924.28. <br />The City Administrator further indicated that other local dealers did not bid <br />because of bid deposit requirements and/or warranties required in the specifica- <br />tions. Mayor Madsen indicated his concern over the technicalities of the speci- <br />fications, the bid bond and other requirements the specifications included and that <br />the specifications were not as requested to be, the same as the County's specifi- <br />cations for squad cars. The City Administrator indicated that the specifications <br />were written item for ite~ the same as the County's. The specifications were <br />
